I was going through all of my digital photos the other day trying to organize the past 4 or 5 years worth into some semblance of order. It was a bit eye opening to find that more than half of them (quite a bit more actually) were of my pets. What kind of person does that make me? I remember back before I had a digital camera and had to take film to get developed that I would always have a ton of pet photos then as well, and very little of anything else. I love my pets, what can I say?
I thought it would be fun to share some of the photos I have. The theme this week is “Cats in Containers” and most of them are with the cats IN, but some are with the cats ON some sort of container.
Sometimes we find ShiHea in the strangest places. He is very curious and ALWAYS wants to be around whenever I am doing some sort of rearranging (which is more often than Don would like.)
If you have cats or are familiar with them, you know that any time there is a bag, box or bin abandoned in the house, it will soon be occupied by one or more cats.
ShiHea occupies his own share of boxes…
Stormy and Ivy are often together. They are sisters and have been together their entire lives (14 years this July.) They shared and took turns laying in the above “Butterlovers” box for a number of weeks. In one of my thrift store outings, I found a basket and purchased it, thinking one would use the box and the other would use the basket. Ha, silly me…..
ShiHea doesn’t really play with the other cats, he is a lone wolf. He does like to try out the places Stormy and Ivy find to lay when they aren’t currently occupying said area.
I did procrastinate for quite awhile in regards to the bin, and managed to get a lot of pictures of cats in it! I’ll spare you all and only show one more.
Ok, I do have one more bin photo, but it is a different bin and was being used to hold the toilet paper rolls I was collecting to use for seedling containers in my gardening attempts. I had it full of them under the potting table on the back porch.
Of course after I pretend got mad at her and took the photo, I gave her tummy a tickle and I cleaned up her mess. She has me trained well. She is the one who usually finds a container to her liking first, even if I am trying to utilize it for something else.
Yeah, the cats
rarely never get in trouble. Wherever they decide to nap, rest or sit, they are welcome to. Ivy likes to explore options other than just baskets and bins. She’s the adventurous sister.
Here in Florida, all three cats seem to rotate from one favorite place to another. In Iowa, it seemed that Ivy and Stormy were usually on our bed in the bedroom, and for some reason, ShiHea had decided that the bathroom was HIS from the moment he moved in, and he claimed the room as his for the entire 8 years he lived there. Any time somebody would get up to go to the bathroom, if ShiHea wasn’t already in there, he would gallop and squeeze his way in before the door was closed. This was very disconcerting to some of our guests.
If you have photos of your cat or cats in containers or other odd places, I would LOVE to see them. You can share them on our Facebook page or send to me via email at Julie @ 1st-Rate-Pet.com.
